Our History

A Legacy of Dog Training Excellence

Before Mutts & Masters Manor, there was a legacy—a family built on generations of dog lovers, trainers, and handlers who believed that working with dogs isn’t just a skill, it’s a way of life.
It all began in the 1960s with my grandmother, a ring steward, handler, and true “dog woman.” She made her mark with Golden Retrievers, producing one of the only Dual Champions in both show and field at the same time—a rare accomplishment that set the tone for everything our family would do next. In the early ’90s, her focus shifted to English Mastiffs, but her devotion never wavered. She passed down her passion, her patience, and her deep understanding of dogs to my mom and uncles, who grew up competing in obedience trials and show rings. Our family’s story was even featured in Kid’s Dog by Richard Wolters—a moment in print that captured the heart of what we still stand for today.
I grew up surrounded by that same energy and dedication, where training wasn’t just a job—it was part of who we were. Three generations later, that tradition lives on at Mutts & Masters Manor. We built this business to carry forward our family’s legacy while helping modern dog owners experience the same joy and connection we grew up with. At Mutts & Masters Manor, we blend time-honored training principles with today’s best practices in behavior and care. From obedience and protection work to behavioral rehabilitation and boarding, we help every dog reach their potential—while giving their owners peace of mind through trusted, expert guidance.
This is more than training. It’s heritage, heart, and a lifelong commitment to dogs—just like it’s always been.
